You know what? I have finished my Christmas shopping already. I am so damn proud of this because usually I start way back in September and am still looking for that extra little something to pop in with my boyfriends or families bundle of gifts on the 23rd December. Aside from that I usually spend way too much money on gifts and wrapping paper, cards, ribbon etc. But oh no, not this year!
Somehow I have bought every single present I need to for around £300. Which is still a lot, I know. But £100 of that is from work using Christmas vouchers which I don't pay back til February and even then I only pay back £80, which is rather nice of my company. That means I got all the alcohol and chocolates/sweets/selection boxes I need out of work and didn't need to worry about buying them elsewhere. If I did I would have been major screwed money-wise.
Just for my own brain to work out that yes, I have actually bought everything I'm including a list.
- Mum: super powerful ion hairdryer; 2007 diary; bottle of her favourite wine; 2 chick-lit novels.
- Brother 1: Akira 2dvd boxset; chocolates
- Brother 2: DVD, massive Xmas sugary lolly pop, chocolates.
- Gran: 2007 Calander, bottle of Sherry, scarf.
- Friend 1: Ornamental glass 'vase'
- Friend 2: Jimmy Page limited edition figurine
- Friend 3: The Boys Book of Knowing Absolutly Everything
- Friend 4: American Dad season 1 dvd
- Boyfriends grandparents: Expensive chocolates & bottle of whiskey
- Boyfriends mum: bottle of wine & book
- Her boyfriend: Chocolates
- Boyfriends Sister: Bottle of pink wine
All of that plus cards and stuff came to around £290. Plus the little presents I bought myself. Like Generation X by Douglas Coupland! And a new pair of shoes. And jeans. Hell, I can't shop without buying myself things!!!
Does anybody else have that problem? Or is it just me being a spend-a-holic?
Where do you do your online shopping?
Generally don't do online shopping these days but if I do it's from eBay, Amazon and livejournal communities. I must get around to ordering some necklaces from This Charming Girl though. *cough*blatant plug*cough*
Those sounds like some really amazing gifts and congrats on getting them over and done with. read more
